LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Hong Kong Announces Hong Kong’s First Creative Crew Members

[June 22, 2021, HONG KONG] LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Hong Kong completed its quest to find the most creative young builders Hong Kong has to offer! Taking the coveted spots on the inaugural 2021 Creative Crew, 11 children are the new ambassadors of the ultimate indoor playground for the next year. They will each receive two complimentary annual passes to LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Hong Kong, gain behind-the-scenes access to special events as well as exclusive opportunities to build and learn LEGO-TASTIC skills from the Master Model Builder King Leung.

After a one-month search among close to 500 applicants, 20 promising young builders were shortlisted by an expert panel of judges to join the Grand Finale at LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Hong Kong at K11 MUSEA. They had to bring their one-of-a-kind LEGO® creations to life in front of a live audience in a timed challenge.

Ben Sweet, New Openings Director – Asia Pacific, Merlin Entertainments, Kelly Mak, General Manager of LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Hong Kong, Troy Taylor, General Manager, Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan of The LEGO® Hong Kong Limited, Kenny Sham, Director, Head of Marketing, , Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan of The LEGO® Hong Kong Limited, and Andy Hung, the 13th LEGO® Certified Professional (the first Chinese LEGO® Certified Professional in Greater China) together selected the final 11 winners for their fantastic building skills and creative flair.

“We are so proud of the creations that all 20 finalists brought to the table today,” said Ben Sweet, New Openings Director – Asia Pacific, Merlin Entertainments. “From Future Transportation to My Ideal Playground, My Garden and My Favourite Hong Kong Landmark – the children really demonstrated that creativity has no limits! We trust our new Creative Crew and all the children who took part in our competition will have the opportunity to grow their creative confidence with their new LEGO® loving friends!”

The 11 children will join Cheung Wang Ching, the winner of the My LEGO® Panda Competition, to form LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Hong Kong’s 2021 Creative Crew:
