From now until 5th February 2023, LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Hong Kong brings a “Bricktastic Lunar New Year” to the city. Guests immerse themselves in Chinese-style celebrations and unleash their creativity by building New Year-themed Minibuilds with specially curated festive bricks.
As visitors step into the bricktastic world of LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Hong Kong, they will meet the first play area: the MINILAND®. Here, you can see a mini-version of Hong Kong with the added flavours of Lunar New Year-themed decor. The busy mini-crowds will participate in various merrymaking activities, including a LEGO® God of Wealth Minifigure. Find where he is and identify what he is holding, show the correct answer at the LEGO® Game Station to win one surprising mini-gift after completing all five challenges, while stock lasts.
Street parades with skilful floats have always been part of Hong Kong-style festivities. At the LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Hong Kong, guests can build their floats to add to the New Year celebrations and see how far their floats run in Build and Test. Some Fai Chun at the LEGO® DOTS Cart are incomplete, waiting for participants to build the missing words and deliver the correct New Year blessings. The LEGO® Game Station will have a few decoration models, a time-limit challenge to see if the participants can build them correctly. Join the Creative Workshop and master tremendous architectural skills in building Lunar New Year-themed Minibuilds like rabbits to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit, as well as the Chinese legendary animal dragon.
LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Hong Kong has prepared a lot of instagrammable installations at various locations. Guests can enjoy clicking a host of festive shots for their New Year stories on social media. This season's most eye-catching photo ops include the 77cm tall LEGO® Dancing Lion model at the entrance, built by LEGO® Certified Professional Andy Hung and his team, they spent over 115 hours with 20,000 pieces of LEGO® bricks to complete this masterpiece! Other calligraphy paintings, spring couplets, firecrackers and lanterns are all made with LEGO® bricks to add a chic and fun twist to traditional decor. Besides, Andy Hung also brings the new Tsim Sha Tsui East build to LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Hong Kong. He spent over 400 hours and used over 50,000 LEGO® bricks to recreate the magnificent Tsim Sha Tsui East seaside scene with gorgeous Chinese New Year light decorations.
